This song was written as I was coming out of one of my lowest valleys. Trying to seek approval from others led me to became a stranger in my own body, and it wrecked me. Insecurity was constantly robbing me of the joy I could have been experiencing, while fear ruled my mind. The classic “I’m not good enough”, or “They’re going to leave me” were thoughts whirling in my head, getting rooted in my heart, to the point they began dictating my life. Being honest, there are moments I am not proud of and all sorts of lies that still get to me, I’m only human. But one thing I have noticed is that when I have the strength to push past the lies and hold onto the truth, my life flourishes. Faith drives out fear, and I’m frequently humbled by the small faith I have.
